Aquatic Physical Therapy

Shallow water therapeutic exercises are designed to improve static and dynamic balance, isolate specific muscle groups for strengthening, and mobility. The difference between performing these exercises on land and in the water is the amount of pressure on your joints. If it is too painful to exercise on land you can perform the strengthening exercises in the water! Once your pain has decreased and you are strong enough, we are able to progress you to land exercises if desired.

Deep water rehab helps to decompress the spine and unload joint to facilitate pain free exercise, while strengthening your core, upper and lower extremities, and building your endurance for a more cardiovascular workout.

Watsu

The therapist  continuously supports and guides the person through a series of flowing movements and stretches in the water that induce deep relaxation and gentle movement. This combines elements of muscle stretching, joint mobilization, massage, and Shiatsu, as the receiver is continuously supported by a practitioner or therapist while being backfloated, rhythmically cradled, moved, stretched, and massaged.

Land Physical Therapy

Traditional physical therapy preformed on dry land using body weight, resistance, and movement to improve strength, flexibility, and function.

Manual Therapy

Utilizing skilled, specific hands-on techniques, the physical therapist treats soft tissues and joint structures for the purpose of pain management; increasing range of motion; reducing or eliminating soft tissue inflammation; inducing relaxation; improving flexibility, strength, and function. Manual treatment can be performed on our tables, or even in the water depending on your comfort level.
